Under The Nile is run by Janice Masoud and husband Mohammed since 1998, with a vision of bringing organic baby clothing into the mainstream. The brand has come to symbolize the best of the organic movement: A care for others, a care for the environment and a care for company success all acting in harmony. In search of organic cotton, a trek to Egypt led them to the SEKEM Initiative Farm, a model community for biodynamic agriculture. Under the Nile is doing more than just helping kids make a positive association with healthy foods by producing these organic toys. They are also proud participants of the 13-Villages-Project, a SEKEM initiative to fight against poverty and its causes in rural Egypt. Under the Nile's "Veggin' Out" collection of stuffed fruits and vegetables are made exclusively through this program.
